Republican Jeff Duncan's wife files for divorce, cites 'extramarital affair'

 September 25, 2023

Melody Duncan, wife of Representative Jeff Duncan (R-SC), filed for divorce on Friday and claimed that Duncan had engaged in multiple "extramarital" affairs.

This is a terrible look for Duncan who has built up his public image as a "strong advocate for life and traditional family values."

The pair married in 1988 and they have three children together. But it seems that Duncan hasn't been faithful, as his wife accused Liz Williams, a Washington D.C. lobbyist, of home wrecking.

According to the filing, Duncan had "recently left the marriage and has admitted to [Melody] that he has an ongoing sexual relationship."

The filing also noted that Duncan had acknowledged the "adulterous relationship to many other people, including the parties' sons and members of his staff."

Melody Duncan is now going after everything that she can in the upcoming divorce. She is demanding permanent and periodic alimony, the two houses owned by the couple, as that all debts and obligations be shifted solely her soon-to-be-ex-husband.
