Republican Chris Stewart claims it is "nonsense" that President Biden didn't know about classified documents

House Intelligence Committee member Representative Chris Stewart (R-UT) said during an interview with CBS’s “Face the Nation" on Sunday that claims that President Biden didn't know he had classified documents at his home were "nonsense."

The past week has been a disaster for the Biden administration as it was discovered there were classified documents that were unsecured at Biden's Univerisity of Pennsylvania offices as well as his Delaware home. Worse yet, some of those classified documents had been in Biden's possession since his days as Vice President.

Now an official investigation is being conducted into the true extent of the president's indiscretion and to see if any crimes had been committed.

The White House has attempted to portray the situation as a simple accident and that President Biden didn't know he had classified documents. However, Stewart isn't buying that story and explained why.

During the interview, Stewart said "But if I could make this point very quickly about, you know, the likelihood of him being unaware of this, I mean, not only am I on the Intelligence Committee, I was an Air Force pilot, I flew the B-1, I’ve dealt with- with classified documents almost my entire life. And you have to know, every one of these documents, they have a cover sheet that’s that’s read. It says what the classification is and why it’s classified. Every single page has a classification marking on it. This isn’t the kind of thing that you just sit on your desk and you think, Oh, I forgot that they’re classified. It’s very clear that they’re classified. And for those who think that, well, the President didn’t realize that he had those in his possession. It just is nonsense."

The president's document scandal is made even worse by the recent raid of former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate and the ensuing legal battle over the classified information held there. The FBI raiding a former president but turning a blind eye to President Biden isn't helping their case against allegations of political bias.
