Republican Anna Paulina Luna announces impeachment hearings will likely begin in October

 August 27, 2023

Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) announced on Friday that the Republican-held House will make a decision on an impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden in October.

In a post to X, Luna stated, "Two major updates. Hearing vote on impeachment inquiry is going to happen... likely in October. My office will be filing an appropriations rider to block federal funds to jurisdictions/ federal funding from being used to prosecute presidential candidates before 2024. We’re not letting these megalomaniacs use taxpayer dollars to fund this divisive and illegal trash."

This announcement is backed up by a statement from House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to Fox Business saying, "If they provide us the documents, there wouldn’t be a need for an impeachment inquiry. But if they withhold the documents and fight like they have now to not provide to the American public what they deserve to know, we will move forward with an impeachment inquiry when we come back into session."

This is major news as it confirms that the Republican Party is moving forward with impeachment despite the wishes of Republicans like Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

President Biden will be held accountable for his corrupt actions and even if he isn't convicted by the Senate, his reelection campaign will be irreparably damaged.

There is also a chance that the evenly split Senate could vote to convict President Biden if lawmakers such as Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Krysten Sinema (I-AZ) join Republicans.
