Rep. Anna Paulina Luna deems Speaker Mike Johnson 'anti-family'
Republican Anna Paulina Luna of Florida has a VERY important job; she does serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, after all.
But like many parents across America, her CHILDREN are just as important as her career.
Luna recently took to social media to trash Republican Speaker of the House Mike Johnson for not allowing a vote about allowing mothers in Congress to vote by proxy while at home with their newborns.
"Among other things, this is something that I fundamentally disagree with him on," Luna said. This is "not only anti-family but is also a slap in the face to the hundreds of thousands of voters who send members to represent them in DC."
"He will not let me bring it to the floor," she complained.
Johnson and other Republicans are saying that they're concerned that proxy voting would constitute a slippery vote. If mothers are allowed to vote in usual circumstances, then when is the next exception going to be made? And when are Democrats going to start to try to game the system for their benefit.
With which of these Republicans do you agree on this matter?
