Representative Dan Kildee Has 'Serious But Curable Form Of Cancer'

 April 2, 2023

Representative Dan Kildee, a Democrat from Michigan, recently made a terrible but necessary announcement.

He has cancer.

The "very small tumor" is being called "a serious but curable form of cancer."

The tumor was found in one of his tonsils and, Kildee was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. I'm not a doctor, but that doesn't sound good at all.

Kildee said he would undergo surgery to remove the tumor "in a few weeks."

"My doctors have advised me it will take a few weeks to recover after the surgery. I’m eager to have this chapter behind me and get back to work. But in the meantime, I’ll be away from the office for a period of time," Kildee said. "The prognosis after surgery and treatment is excellent."

Kildee may be a Democrat, but that doesn't mean we aren't wishing him a speedy recovery.

"I am going to get through this. I’m going to beat cancer," the five-term congressman concluded. "I appreciate the love of my family and wife, Jennifer, as well as the help of my extraordinary staff. And to my constituents and my colleagues in Congress, thank you for your continued support."
