Report: Police, fire resources during CA crisis were delayed due to Biden visit

 January 29, 2025

Since President Donald Trump took office last week, revelations of the mishandling of the California wildfires have been eye-opening, to say the very least.

According to Breitbart, another bombshell was revealed this week after an LAPD source said the reason there were not enough officers available to help evacuate residents and direct traffic was because much of the force was tied up in a security detail for President Joe Biden.

Biden happened to be in the Palisades area from Jan. 6 to Jan. 8 due to the birth of his granddaughter's baby.

Of course, whenever a president is in any part of the country, local and state law enforcement resources are strained, even in large cities like Los Angeles.

Breitbart noted:

But because LAPD officers had been detailed to help protect him and his family, officers struggled to reach the Pacific Palisades as the Palisades Fire began to burn, and frightened residents became stuck in a traffic on Sunset Boulevard.

The source held nothing back as they confessed that Biden's security detail put a major hindrance on helping citizens evacuate and get to safety in an organized manner due to Biden's presence in the area.

"We tried to get over here [the Palisades] in time, but we couldn’t," the source reportedly said. "We were detailed to the president."

Breitbart added:

Breitbart News noted at the time that people began evacuating the Pacific Palisades at the same time that emergency vehicles began arriving in large numbers, competing for space on the roadways with people trying to leave the area — and also with people trying to reach their houses, or fetch their children from school, before leaving.

People in the area understandably began panicking as smoke neared the intersection of Palisades Drive and Sunset Boulevard, causing insane traffic back-ups.

In turn, the traffic nightmare prevented critical firefighting resources from reaching the origins of the fire to help mitigate its spread.

There were also flight restrictions in place due to the former president being in the area, which also prevented critical water drops from firefighting aircraft, which allowed the fire to spread even faster.

Social media users commented on the debacle.

"I was wondering about what type of havoc that caused. The airspace was surely shut down with a TFR too," one X user wrote.
