Rep. Nancy Mace endorses Jim Jordan for House speaker

 October 10, 2023

America is still without a House speaker, but several high-profile Republicans are lining up for the job, including House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH).

Jordan has received an outpouring of support and according to Breitbart, Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) made it clear during a recent interview on CBS’ Face the Nation that she will support Jordan's run for the speaker's gavel.

Mace laid out a number of reasons as to why she has decided to support Jordan in his quest for the top House leadership role.

"I will tell you today, I am going to be supporting Jim Jordan for speaker for a number of reasons. I think that his values, his work ethic, his ability to just run circles around everyone with regards to policy and pushing forward. We have been one of the least productive Congresses inside of thirty years, and he is going to be a workhorse for our country," she said.

The South Carolina lawmaker said she's not scared of the hard work that will undoubtedly be involved in selecting a new speaker.

Mace added, "I’m really looking forward to rolling up our sleeves this week, no matter how this shakes out and working hard for the American people because we’ve got to stand up for the people. We’ve got to put the American people first and move this country forward and do it in a positive way. And I think he’s going to bring that to the table."

She went on to stress the importance of the Republican Party working together as the 2024 election inches closer.

“We have to look forward and unite and come together regardless of what has happened in the past. We have to be forward-thinking and look to the future to bring the party together. Bring the people together and let the American people know that we care, and we’re going to work and fight hard for them," she said.

Jordan also picked up another glowing endorsement from former President Donald Trump.

“He will be a GREAT Speaker of the House, & has my Complete and Total Endorsement!" Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

"The endorsement came just days after Trump said he would take the speakership position on a temporary basis, if need be, after several Republican House members signaled their support for him.

Only time will tell who Republicans ultimately select, but for the sake of national security, the sooner the better.
