Rapper TI arrested at Atlanta airport
Rapper T.I. was arrested at an Atlanta airport on Sunday, but police quickly figured out that they had the wrong man.
T.I.'s real name is Clifford Harris, and authorities got him mixed up with another Clifford Harris who allegedly stalked and was violent toward a woman in Baltimore.
After he was arrested, he was taken to jail and nearly extradited to Maryland, but his lawyer, Steve Sadow, was able to intervene and get him released within two hours of the arrest.
Once the judge was able to look at the facts of the case, he quickly figured out that the Clifford Harris who was wanted for the crimes was not the same one who was arrested.
The Clifford Harris wanted in Maryland was described as weighing 200 pounds, for example, but T.I. only weighs 165.
T.I. was born and raised in Atlanta and now owns a restaurant, the Trap City Cafe, there.
