Radio host steps down after admitting post-debate Biden questions were fed by campaign

A radio host from Pennsylvania's only Black-owned radio station stepped down over the weekend after admitting that her post-debate questions for President Joe Biden were fed to her by the campaign.

Andrea Lawful-Sanders of HURD in Philadelphia revealed Saturday that she received eight questions approved by the Biden campaign and that she chose to use four of them in a post-debate interview.

The station reacted by saying that Lawful-Sanders's unexpected admission violated the station's independence.

“The interview featured pre-determined questions provided by the White House, which violates our practice of remaining an independent media outlet accountable to our listeners," Sara Lomax WURD Radio’s president and CEO said in a statement.

"As a result, Ms. Lawful-Sanders and WURD Radio have mutually agreed to part ways, effective immediately,” Lomax continued.

Biden has struggled to maintain support from the Black community, and this stunt is unlikely to help him in that area.
