Princess of Wales, also known as Kate Middleton, has been released from the hospital following a planned abdominal surgery almost two weeks ago and will continue with a period of recovery at home.

"The Princess of Wales has returned home to Windsor to continue her recovery from surgery. She is making good progress," a Kensington Palace spokesperson said Monday. "The Prince and Princess wish to say a huge thank you to the entire team at The London Clinic, especially the dedicated nursing staff, for the care they have provided."

No other information about the type of surgery was given by royal spokespeople, although they did confirm that it was not related to cancer.

Most surgeries do not require two weeks of hospital care, but she does have three young children at home.

Prince William did not plan any engagements while his wife was hospitalized but will resume them soon now that she is home.

Kate plans to resume her royal duties sometime in the spring.
