Preteen boy dies day after enrolling in controversial 'therapy camp'

 February 8, 2024

A 12-year-old boy died only one day after attending a "therapy camp" in the North Carolina wilderness.

The boy’s parents allowed their son to be driven by strangers to the rural camp at Lake Toxaway.

He was dead by morning.

When authorities first arrived, it didn’t take them long to draw an even more disturbing conclusion.

The boy had been dead “for some time.”

Four adult men were also said to have been in the cabin in which the boy had been sleeping, and while no cause of death has yet been released, we do know, however, that the death was not natural.

What did the camp have to say?

“We are shattered by the tragic loss of a young life, and our deepest sympathies are with the student's family and loved ones,” the camp’s written statement explained to Fox Carolina.

So, a 12-year-old boy dies an unnatural death the same day he is carted away to a wilderness therapy camp?

Something is off here.

No other details have been released at this time.
