Pelosi chants 'We love Joe' at DNC after helping dump him from ticket
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) chanted "We love Joe" at the DNC convention as President Joe Biden gave a farewell speech that was bumped from prime time on Monday.
The accolades from Pelosi came just weeks after she was reportedly instrumental in tossing him from the ticket against his will amid growing public perceptions that he was becoming too old and frail to win re-election.
To add insult to injury, Biden's speech in which he officially passed the baton to his Vice President Kamala Harris was bumped from prime time and forced some of his listeners to stay up past midnight to hear the end.
The speech in Chicago, Illinois began at 10:30 p.m. local time, or 11:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
Biden cried as he was introduced and remained emotional during the speech, which capped his 50-year career in politics.
Some commented that it was past Biden's bedtime, although the speech seemed to come off fine despite the late hour.
