Pelosi asked Catholic priests to perform exorcism of townhouse where husband was attacked

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said in an interview with Maureen Dowd that she asked Catholic priests to perform an exorcism at her San Francisco townhouse over the Thanksgiving holiday following the attack on her husband Paul Pelosi in late October.

Pelosi also had prayer services in the home to try to get rid of evil spirits, she and her daughter Alexandra said.

“I think it really broke her,” Alexandra said. “Over Thanksgiving, she had priests coming, trying to have an exorcism of the house and having prayer services.”

Pelosi said she thought it could take three to four months for Paul to get back to normal after the attack. He is still healing from his injuries, she said.

The former House speaker calls herself a "devout" Catholic even though her San Francisco bishop has denied her communion because of her diehard support for abortion.

She stepped down as a Democrat leader in the House when Republicans took the majority in January.
