At least four sources told Reuters that FBI Director Kash Patel is considering asking the UFC to help train FBI agents in martial arts, according to an article published Friday.

Patel floated the idea during a Wednesday video conference call with supervisors at the agency's 55 field offices -- his first as director.

The sources said that agents called the idea "wacky" and "surreal."

President Donald Trump is a big UFC fan and is a good friend of UFC president Dana White, so the idea may not be as unlikely as it seems.

Patel was narrowly confirmed by a 51-49 vote. He has committed to a complete overhaul of the bureau, including relocating 1,000 desk agents to the field and another 500 to the Huntsville, Alabama office.

UFC said it wasn't aware of any partnership with the FBI at this point.
