Original 'Wheel of Fortune' host and ardent Trump supporter Chuck Woolery passes away at 83

Chuck Woolery, the original host of "Wheel of Fortune," passed away at the age of 83 on Saturday at his home in Texas.

Woolery, who was a titan of television, was reportedly experiencing breathing trouble before passing away on Saturday according to Woolery’s friend and podcast co-host Mark Young.

In a post to X, Young stated "It is with a broken heart that I tell you that my dear brother @chuckwoolery has just passed away. Life will not be the same without him, RIP brother."

Woolery got his start in entertainment as a musician performing in the folk band, The Bordermen, and the psychedelic-pop group Avant-Garde. He would also go on to write several commercial jingles, and even a handful of country music ballads.

Woolery would go on to get into acting and eventually landed a role on "Wheel of Fortune" which would cement him in the conscious of the American public for decades.

Woolery was also an outspoken conservative and ardent supporter of President-elect Donald Trump and the GOP and took time to advocate for many issues ranging from protecting the 1st Amendment to the rise of woke politics.
