Ocasio-Cortez attacked Jesus ads during Super Bowl as 'fascist'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is sure that Jesus would not like the Super Bowl ads that were run in his name as part of a campaign called "He Gets Us," and called the campaign "fascist."

Two ads were aired by the group for a cost of $20 million, asserting that Jesus wants us to be childlike and that he loves who we hate.

But Ocasio-Cortez didn't seem to get the message, and said, “Something tells me Jesus would *not* spend millions of dollars on Super Bowl ads to make fascism look benign.”

One ad showed people yelling in each others' faces with the caption “Jesus loved the people we hate. He gets us. All of us.”

Ocasio-Cortez didn't get specific about what she saw as "fascist" about the ads.

Others have pointed to funding from pro-life and non-LGBT-affirming groups and called the group behind the ads hateful rather than loving. Seems like they are quite missing the point, as usual.
