Obama's DHS Allowed Illegal Rape Suspect To Remain In America

A horrifying example of the country's enduring immigration crisis that took place during the administration of Barack Obama came to light this week.

Jon Feere, a former Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer during the Trump years, who is now with the Center for Immigration Studies, reported that Jose Roberto Hernandez Espinal, a native of El Salvado, was just arrested on charges of first-degree rape, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, armed robbery, and kidnapping.

The charges stemmed from the man's alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl and another woman at a Maryland hiking trail.

As Feere pointed out, Hernandez-Espinal crossed the southern border back in 2013 at age 10, alongside his father, was released into the country's interior, and the pair never turned up for their required court appearances. Though the accused was ordered to be deported for failing to appear for a hearing in 2014, removal never occurred.

When Hernandez-Espinal was subsequently incarcerated for armed robbery and assault, ICE officials requested that Prince George's County, Maryland turn him over upon release so that he could finally be deported.

However, that county operated under a sanctuary policy that prevented such an outcome, and Hernandez-Espinal was eventually turned loose, arrested again on suspicion of malicious destruction of property, but released once more prior to committing the rapes of which he now stands accused.

The entire scenario is yet another tragic -- yet utterly predictable -- result of the dangerous policies the current administration also insists on pursuing, brutal consequences be damned.
