While former President Donald Trump is enjoying a fundraising boom himself as a result of his recent indictment, there's another Republican who isn't doing too shabby in the cash department either.
The former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations announced her candidacy back in the middle of February, and the money has been pouring in ever since. In the first six weeks after declaring her intent to become president in 2024, Haley raised over $11,000,000.
Haley's campaign manager, Betsy Ankney, says that this figure is important for two reasons:
One of those reasons is the obvious value of $11,000,000. That can buy a lot of ads and smear a lot of opponents.
The second relates to the enthusiasm that $11,000,000 in donations represents. Americans don't just hand out millions of dollars to anyone, there's obviously something about Haley that some Americans find appealing.
""In just six weeks, Nikki Haley’s massive fundraising and active retail campaigning in early voting states makes her a force to be reckoned with," Ankney said. "Voters and donors are clearly responding to Nikki’s conservative message and her call for a new generation of leadership to make America strong and proud."
