Newt Gingrich says it was 'stupid' for GOP to work with Democrats

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich made it clear that the border deal controversy will be the DEATH of the GOP.

Gingrich let it fly on the Cats & Cosby Show.

“Anytime you try to get a bipartisan agreement with the Democrats, you are going to get ripped off because their interests are so radically different than ours,” the former House speaker said.

He did not stop there.

Gingrich went on to say that the only time you get a good deal with Democrats is when the American people hold their feet to the fire.

“On the other hand, if you have an agreement with the American people, and the American people pressure the Democrats to be with you, then you can get a pretty good deal,” he continued.

“But you’ll never get a good deal if you start by trying to work with the Democrats because it’s not in their interest to work with you,” the former House speaker concluded.
