New report from Biden aides details family entanglement in business dealings

President Joe Biden and his family members have claimed for years that they are not involved in each others' business dealings or involved in business together, but a new Politico report may show otherwise.

Talking to Biden's aides, Politico was able to discover that Biden and his son Hunter shared a personal bookkeeper and a personal lawyer with his brother Jim. The former head of his vice presidential Secret Service detail also helped his brother Jim investigate a potential business partner from China.

These connections reportedly go way back. In 1975 just after Biden had been elected to the U.S. Senate, Jim got a loan from Biden's previous law firm, Walsh, Monzack & Owens, for his nightclub business.

A partner in the firm, Mel Monzack, has been a personal attorney to Biden and his campaign treasurer. The firm also handles Biden's S Corporation, through which speaking and book fees are funneled.

Eric Schwerin, the bookkeeper for both the president and his son, has testified before Congress that the finances of the two were never mingled despite emails on Hunter Biden's laptop claiming that he was paying his father's bills and giving "half" the money he was making to his father.

He also acquiesced to business associate Tony Bobolinski's statements about setting aside 10% of some business deals "for the big guy," whom Bobolinski and others have said was Joe Biden.
