New poll: DeSantis beats Trump in head-to-head matchup and against all comers

A new poll by WPA Intelligence showed that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would beat former President Donald Trump both in a head-to-head matchup and in a crowded GOP primary field and is the top presidential candidate in the GOP right now.

Taken before Vivek Ramaswamy joined the race, DeSantis beats Trump 57%-33% in a head-to-head matchup.

Against other potential and actual candidates, DeSantis gets 40%, Trump gets 31%, and no other candidate gets above 8%, including Nikki Haley, who entered the race last week and got 8%.

DeSantis has not yet officially entered the race but seems likely to do so in the near future.

Reports say he may jump in after the Florida legislative session concludes in May or June.

He will be releasing a book, The Courage to be Free, on Feb. 28.
