New Hampshire woman survives being compacted into trash dumpster

An unidentified Manchester, New Hampshire woman survived being compacted inside a garbage truck at least four times on Monday and critically injured.

The woman fell into a dumpster trying to throw out a bag of trash, then was dumped into the truck, she told firefighters who rescued her.

“She was in agony,” neighbor Amanda Czzowitz told Boston 25. “All you heard was screaming.”

The truck driver saw her on an internal camera and called 911. It took the firefighters half an hour to get to the woman through the top of the truck.

Her husband and kids were present when she was taken from the garbage truck.

Police are investigating exactly what happened and why the woman was not discovered in the dumpster earlier.
