NBA Star Offered Woman $100K To Get Abortion: Report

NBA Star Anthony Edwards has been leading the Minnesota Timberwolves to a successful season so far, but depending on how he navigates the issues in front of him now, the basketball court might have to take a back seat to his personal life.

Over the weekend, text messages between Edwards and an Instagram model went public.

The messages apparently show Edwards encouraging the woman to get an abortion and sending her $100,000 to make it happen.

Edwards released a statement about the leaked screenshots on Dec 19, saying he made the comments in the "heat of a moment" and "was not trying to be that type of person."

Stephen A. Smith, best known for being a loudmouth on ESPN, gave his thoughts on the matter:

Let me say this, Anthony Edwards had to apologize because he is a public figure. Having said that, once again, here's the bigger lesson to be learned. Guard who you deal with. Once again, I'm singing that same old dance -- it's none of our damn business.
