Nassau Supreme Court Justice dies in motorcycle crash
A motorcycle crash on the Long Island Expressway has claimed the life of Nassau County Supreme Court Justice Dawn Jimenez, according to Suffolk County Police.
According to the New York Post, "Nassau Supreme Court Justice Dawn Jimenez-Salta, 60, was riding on the back of a 2007 Harley-Davidson that collided with a car on the Long Island Expressway at just after 5:30 p.m., Suffolk County police said."
The driver of the Harley was 65-year-old Frederick Fischer, who was seriously injured.
Jimenez-Salta was rushed to Long Island Community Hospital but did not survive.
A spokesperson gave a statement about the passing:
"The Nassau County District Attorney’s Office is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Nassau County Supreme Court Justice Dawn Jimenez," they said. "Justice Jimenez was a dedicated public servant who upheld the values of fairness and justice throughout her career, spanning from New York City to Long Island. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time."
