Reps. Nancy Mace, a Republican from South Carolina, and Matt Gaetz, a Republican from Florida, are teaming up with America's liberals again.
Luckily this time, it isn't to disrupt the Republicans' speaker of the House chaos and throw us into three weeks of turmoil. Their actions shouldn't be taken lightly though, as their decision to cross the aisle and side with liberals on the issue of marijuana legalization is a stark difference from the way Republicans have operated for decades.
The two lawmakers want to legalize marijuana in America. Mace has proposed that marijuana "be removed from Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act and would instead be regulated like alcohol."
Regardless of how you feel about the issue of marijuana legalization, you can't deny that this is ANOTHER instance of Gaetz going against the rest of his party.
What do you think about Gaetz?
Do you think that he is brave for standing up for what he believes in, even when it's not a popular opinion?
Or do you think he's nothing but a troublemaker trying to keep the attention on himself at all times?
