Michelle Obama thrashed over tone-deaf New Years message attacking Donald Trump
Former first lady Michelle Obama was thrashed on social media after releasing a tone-deaf New Year's message to her Instagram which received immediate criticism for its overt political points.
Instead of simply acknowledging the holidays and celebrating the past year while hailing the new one, Obama used the opportunity to once again attack President-elect Donald Trump and fearmonger about the results of the election.
Obama started her video off by saying, "Happy holidays! I know it's been a difficult few months for so many of us -- and folks are feeling a little bit anxious and uncertain. But even during these tough times, there are plenty of reasons to stay hopeful."
The former first lady then went on to talk about the Obama Foundation and the construction of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago, which to Democrats felt like more self-advertising than an offer of reassurance in the wake of November's election.
Furthermore, Obama's use of the "Happy Holidays" greeting was also met with criticism as many Americans are over the progressive saying, which is designed to be "inclusive" of other religions during the Christmas season.
Many Democrats have expressed dissatisfaction with the Obamas over their role in forcing President Joe Biden out in favor of Vice President Kamala Harris, who would go on to get crushed in November's election. At this point, many Democrats don't want to hear anything from the Obamas for a while.
