Michelle Obama blasted for New Year's message complaining about Donald Trump
Former first lady Michelle Obama is under fire after putting out a New Year's message on her Instagram account which was quickly criticized by both Democrats and Republicans alike.
During her video, Obama stated, "I know it's been a difficult few months for so many of us -- and folks are feeling a little bit anxious and uncertain. But even during these tough times, there are plenty of reasons to stay hopeful."
The comment was a clear shot at President-elect Donald Trump who will be sworn into office in a couple of weeks here and Obama's message didn't sit well with the half of the country who has been celebrating Trump's victory.
The former first lady then went on to talk about the Obama Foundation and the Obama Presidential Center which is under construction in the South side of Chicago.
This was seen as completely tone-deaf by many Democrats who were still reeling from the election and weren't in the mood to hear the Obamas brag about their plans while the party struggles to deal with the election results.
While many Democrats are no doubt bummed about Trump's second term, many of them actually blame the Obamas for forcing Democrats to accept Kamala Harris as their nominee after Joe Biden was forced out. Safe to say, the Obamas would do well to keep a low profile for a while.
