Melania Trump issues statement following attempted Trump assassination, calls for change in American politics
Former first lady Melania Trump issued her first statement since the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump and urged Americans to "ascend above the hate."
In a statement posted to her social media accounts, Trump stated, "When I watched that violent bullet strike my husband, Donald, I realized my life, and Barron’s life, were on the brink of devastating change. I am grateful to the brave secret service agents and law enforcement officials who risked their own lives to protect my husband."
Donald Trump survived the attempt on his life by mere millimeters thanks to what many believe is a miraculous turn of the head.
Unfortunately, while Trump lived, one attendee was killed, and others were injured. Thankfully, the shooter was quickly shot by Secret Service agents before he could take even more lives.
The former first lady continued in her statement saying, "We all want a world where respect is paramount, family is first, and love transcends. We can realize this world again. Each of us demands to get it back. We must insist that respect fills the cornerstone of our relationships, again."
The attempt on Trump's life shines a light on just how bad things have gotten after years of the Democrat Party and the mainstream media comparing Trump to Hitler and making allegations of "existential" threats to democracy.
The left has demonized Trump for years, and it was only a matter of time before an unhinged individual took a shot at the man that the mainstream media claims is some kind of despot and tyrant hellbent on destroying America.
