The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, were caught boarding a private jet for a Caribbean vacation following a climate change conference in New York.
The pair flew to Canouan, an exclusive island for the rich and famous, near St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Daily Mirror reported, "Private jets burn more fuel per passenger than airliners, and the flights totaled over 4,000 miles with an estimated 9.6 tons of CO2 emissions. The New York summit they attended was organized by the non-profit group Project Healthy Minds. During it, mental health adviser Zak Williams, the son of late actor Robin Williams, warned, “climate change is impacting our mental health, particularly young people.""
The royal couple didn't seem to care about Williams' claims, as not even a day later, they were off living their incredibly emission-intensive lives.
The elite are happy to lecture regular Americans about climate change and the sacrifices that must be made but aren't willing to make any sacrifices themselves.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are just one example of countless elite who are emitting more carbon than most Americans will in their entire lives.
