Massie endorses DeSantis because he didn't shut state's economy down during COVID-19

Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) endorsed Governor Ron DeSantis in the 2024 GOP primary “because he didn’t shut his down and Trump was urging governors to shut their economies down."

Massie also said that former President Donald Trump should have fired Dr. Anthony Fauci instead of following his advice.

Massie said, “Ron will be able to talk about the economy because he didn’t shut his down and Trump was urging governors to shut their economies down.”

He added, “We all know Trump should have fired Fauci. But look at what Ron DeSantis did in Florida. He fired his surgeon general and got one who followed common sense. He got Joseph Ladapo, who followed the science, and not ‘the science,’ but the data. So we can expect that Ron DeSantis would do the same thing in the White House."

Massie believes young people will support DeSantis for keeping beaches open and having a reasonable approach to COVID-19.

Let's hope he's right, but it seems like most people will be all-too happy to forget all about COVID and move on to other topics.
