Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is standing by her outburst during President Joe Biden's State of the Union address, saying she was "honored" to call him a liar when he accused Republicans of wanting to cut Social Security and Medicare.

“I thought it was pretty impressive that the president would enter the people’s house and try to lie to the American people about the economy, the border and even ignore the fact that he allowed the Chinese spy balloon to spy on America,” she said on the Hannity TV show. “But when he continued the lie, accusing Republicans of preparing to cut Social Security and Medicare, we couldn’t take it.”

At the same time Greene yelled "liar," other Republicans booed Biden and laughed at him for lying so blatantly about their intentions.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said repeatedly before the speech that cuts to both programs were "off the table" during debt ceiling negotiations and were not being considered.

A proposal by Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) to sunset all federal programs was not intended to cut or get rid of them, but to conduct a broader review and go through the process of renewing the programs that are needed.

Scott's program is not gaining a lot of support so far, so Democrats don't need to worry much about any cuts to these programs right now, despite the fact that they are going to go bankrupt in another decade or two at current levels.
