A man suspected of committing the grizzly crime of murdering four women, including a teenager, and critically injuring an additional teenager, was recently found dead.
The cause of death, according to authorities, was a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Just The News reported.
Multiple Tennessee police agencies launched a search for the suspect after a woman was reported to have been shot and killed over the weekend in southern Memphis.
The crime, authorities said, appeared to be connected to several other deaths, including one instance of a woman being shot and killed and another that involved two women being murdered via gunshot.
Tennessee law enforcement identified the suspect as Mavis Christian Jr., 52.
The shootings, authorities determined, were a result of domestic violence disputes. Christian fled the last scene in a white Chevy Malibu. A citywide manhunt was immediately launched in an effort to locate him.

By Sunday, police had located the white Malibu that Christian Jr. reportedly used to flee the scene of his last alleged murder and found him dead inside.
They said he died "from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound." He was pronounced dead at the scene of the vehicle's discovery.
"Many are asking who is Mavis Christian Jr., the man accused of killing his own family members in a shooting spree over the weekend. Records uncovered by WREG show that he has been in trouble with the law for decades," WREG reported in a social media post.
One of the family members of one of his victims said he had previously threatened their mother but didn't think much of it at the time.
"He threatened my mother a few times before and my sister a few times, but we didn’t think much of it even though we should have because he went to jail for attempted murder," the family member said.
The teenager who was critically injured after being shot is still in recovery.
