Man charged after threatening to shoot Travis Kelce at Morgan Wallen concert
An Illinois man was charged with making a "terroristic threat" after posting a tweet threatening to shoot Travis Kelce, the boyfriend of Taylor Swift, and superstar Chief's quarterback Patrick Mahomes at the Morgan Wallen concert at Arrowhead Stadium Friday night.
Kelce and Mahomes walked with Wallen on stage for the performance at Arrowhead Stadium, which is the home of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Jean Peters Baker, Jackson County's prosecutor, issued a statement explaining that Aaron Brown of Winchester, Illinois, was taken into custody after police overseeing security for the event saw his tweet.
The statement read, "Officers were monitoring threats at a planned concert when they observed on X a threat against two individuals, who were members of the Kansas City Chiefs organization, were present at the event."
Brown deleted the tweet and reportedly stated that "it was a stupid, stupid, stupid mistake," and the concert was delayed for nearly an hour as police tracked him down in the crowd.
He didn't explain why he had posted the tweet in the first place, but it can be assumed that his distaste for Mahomes and Kelce was football-related.
