Majority of Americans agree that Congress should repeal funding for new IRS agents

A new poll by Rassmussen showed that a majority of Americans think Congress should repeal funding for the hiring of up to 87,000 new IRS agents as part of the Inflation Reduction Act passed in August.

56% of those surveyed said they approved of the House bill to cancel the funding, including 40% who strongly approved.

The $80 billion slated to go to the IRS would make the agency larger than the Pentagon, State Department, FBI, and Border Patrol combined.

Majorities of Republicans (64%), Democrats (52%), and Independents (52%) agreed with House Republicans' actions.

Unfortunately, the repeal will not pass the Senate or get by the president's veto, so it will not become law.

While Republicans can still claim they did something about the funding, in reality, they did nothing.
