Report: LA Times owner met with pro-Trump celebs about MAGA alternative to 'The View'

 January 4, 2025

The owner of the Los Angeles Times is considering launching a conservative alternative to daytime talk show The View that has proved popular on ABC for so many years.

According to Oliver Darcy's newsletter, Status, Patrick Soon-Shiong, also a noted pharmaceutical mogul, has been meeting with celebrities about the idea.

Two of the stars who have been named in the report are comedian Rob Schneider and actress Cheryl Hines, who is the wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

According to The Independent, "the meeting arrived after Schneider pitched the idea of creating an all-women talk show that would be 'the opposite' of The View, the daytime talk show known for its political commentary."

Schneider said that his media company, No Apologies Media, was "going to compete with 'The View.'"

Hines, who is probably best known for her role on Curb Your Enthusiasm, has risen to political prominence ever since her husband, RFK Jr., became involved in the 2024 presidential election and aligned himself with Donald Trump.

Nothing official has been announced yet, but there's a serious chance there would be a market for an alternative to The View.

Conservatives watch television too! Let's at least make it something they can enjoy!
