LA Times columnist quits job, accuses paper's owner of 'appeasing' Trump
As the left continues to freak out over President-elect Donald Trump's incredible victory over Vice President Kamala Harris on Election Day, liberal media types also seem to be extremely triggered.
According to Breitbart, that was evidenced once again in the newspaper business as it was reported that a columnist for the Los Angeles Times quit over the perception that the paper's owner was trying to "appease" Trump.
Columnist Harry Litman announced his resignation from the paper, accusing it of "appeasing Trump" simply because the owner of the paper, Patrick Soon-Shiong, is making an effort to restore some level of nonpartisanship and balance in its coverage.
Clearly, Litman's level of Trump Derangement Syndrome is off the charts, like many of his colleagues.
Soon-Shiong announced recently that he was replacing the outlet's left-leaning editorial board in an effort to allow "all voices to be heard."
Litman exposed his level of TDS in the opening paragraph of his dramatic Substack post, using the familiar and tired phrase about Trump "assaulting democracy" or something to that effect.
"I have written my last op-ed for the Times. Yesterday, I resigned my position. I don’t want to continue to work for a paper that is appeasing Trump and facilitating his assault on democratic rule for craven reasons," Litman wrote.
He added, "My resignation is a protest and visceral reaction against the conduct of the paper’s owner, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong. Soon-Shiong has made several moves to force the paper, over the forceful objections of his staff, into a posture more sympathetic to Donald Trump."
He also complained about the owner of the paper deciding, like other outlets, to not endorse Harris for the presidency.
🥴Los Angeles Times columnist, no doubt among the 4-6% lost forever, has lashed out at the paper's owner for 'currying favor' with Trump in what he called a 'shameful capitulation'.
The paper’s editorial department had drafted an endorsement of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. Soon-Shiong ordered them to spike it and make no endorsement in the election.

Litman is the latest liberal writer or journalist to quit their job over Trump, and many on social media have suggested that more should follow.
The paper, like many other liberal rags, has suffered greatly in subscription revenue because of its hard left take on most subjects.
