King Charles avoids involvement in Prince Harry's legal dispute over UK security protection
It seems like drama in the British Royal Family never ends, especially when it comes to the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry.
According to Fox News, Prince Harry has been involved deeply in an ongoing court battle regarding his security when he is in the United Kingdom, as much of his royal protection was revoked when he stepped away as a senior royal and moved to the United States.
As far as King Charles is concerned, the prince is on his own, as the level of security he's afforded is determined by the U.K. government.
Prince Harry lost his right to royal protection when he departed royal life in 2020 with his wife, Meghan Markle.
Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine and author of My Mother and I, has a pretty good idea as to why King Charles hasn't used his influence to make sure the prince is covered by U.K. security forces.
"The king is in a position where the security and who gets the security is decided by the government, and the government is not the monarch," Steward told Fox News Digital.
Steward noted that before Charles was the king, he had more leeway as far as making more things happen behind the scenes and using his influence to take care of business. As king, that's no longer the case.

"When Charles was Prince Charles, he could do more, but as monarch, he has to be very careful," added Seward. "He cannot get involved with government policy. Therefore, probably the easiest way out is to let somebody else deal with Harry."
"I am sure that somebody talks to Harry, it just may not be his father," Seward told the outlet.
"And in a way, that’s probably because his father just doesn’t want to get involved. He hasn’t got time; he hasn’t got the inclination, and he probably hasn’t got the energy for what would be a potentially difficult conversation."
Prince Harry has spent at least four years battling the issue in U.K. courts, to no avail.
Fox News noted:
Insiders previously told the outlet that Harry wants to reinstate his security to allow more flexible visits to the U.K. for himself, his wife and their two children. One source said that the prince wants to "ensure the safety of himself and his family while in the U.K., so his children can know his home country" and work with his charities.
Perhaps he should have considered the safety issue before he left the Royal Family to live abroad.
