In 2018, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton called his top employee into his office for a meeting. His wife was also there.
In the meeting, Paxton admitted to having an affair.
His mistress was named Laura Olson.
On Sept. 14, 2023, Laura Olson was supposed to testify in Paxton's impeachment trial.
However, that never happened.
Reports have come out saying that both sides had decided that Olson "has been deemed unavailable to testify."
Lt. Governor Dan Patrick was the one who made the announcement that Olson "is present but has been deemed unavailable to testify."
Paxton's trial will have to go on without her.
Per various sources: It sounds like the alleged mistress, Laura Olson, was planning to plead the 5th on the stand, there was potentially a motion to quash, and the agreement ended up being that Patrick would read a short statement that she would not be testifying in the trial https://t.co/jbB9Hba3tM
