Ken Paxton Acquitted On All 16 Articles Of Impeachment

 September 19, 2023

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton just received the news for which he's going to be VERY thankful.

He has been acquitted.

I guess the glove didn't fit.

Back in May, the Texas' House of Representatives voted 121-23 to impeach Paxton.

Texas' Senate took up 16 of those articles over the weekend.

Paxton will NOT be removed from office as a result of his acquittal.

Thirty senators, comprised of 12 Democrats and 18 Republicans, rendered their verdict.

Texas does have 31 state senators, but the last one was actually Paxton's own wife, and she wasn't allowed to vote.

Paxton faced some pretty serious charges, alleging that he used his power and position as the state's attorney general to help donor Nate Paul through a series of legal difficulties.

Paxton reportedly accepted bribes that came in the form of not cash, but renovations to his home.

One of the home renovation projects allegedly facilitated by Nate Paul wasn't actually for Paxton's house. It was done at the house of a woman with whom Paxton was having an extramarital affair.

You do the math.
