Kari Lake under consideration to serve as Trump admin's ambassador to Mexico: Report
Kari Lake might have lost her Senate race in Arizona, but she still might find herself playing a massive part in American politics after the 2024 election.
The Washington Examiner is reporting that Lake is "among favorites" to be named Donald Trump's ambassador to Mexico.
Lake unsuccessfully attempted to become the governor of Arizona in 2022, then lost her bid to serve in the U.S. Senate in 2024.
Neither of her races was without controversy.
In 2022, she outright refused to concede her election on the grounds of election fraud despite being officially declared the loser in the race for Arizona's Governor.
Although it seems like she took 2024's loss a little more graciously than 2022's, Kari Lake made no clear concession in 2024 either.
Some people might see Lake as a troublemaker because of this. Donald Trump, who's been through similar things, sees her as a fighter.
That's why she's on his shortlist to become America's next ambassador to Mexico.
Trump needs to find a replacement for former ambassador to Mexico Christopher Landau, because Landau has been named the next deputy secretary of state.
The position is sure to be a big challenge, as undocumented immigrants from Mexico are one of the biggest problems facing America right now. Still, Kari Lake would probably prefer the challenge if it meant keeping her political career alive.
