Kamala Harris NAACP Image Award called 'participation trophy' by X user

The awarding of the NAACP Image Award to former Vice President Kamala Harris was mocked by X users, including one that called it a "participation trophy."

Harris received the Chairman's Award on Saturday, and her acceptance speech was full of fearmongering about "shadows" on American democracy.

“Kamala Harris winning an award for ‘excellence’ in leadership is like giving an Oscar to a background extra,” one X user said, adding, “The NAACP really knows how to pick ’em.”

“Accepting awards like she’s done something worth celebrating is just a joke,” another echoed. “The NAACP Image Awards are all about flashing lights and not real accomplishments.”

"Here is Kamala Harris getting her participation trophy at the NAACP Image Awards last night," a third user chimed in.

If the award was an attempt to rehabilitate her image, as some thought, let's hope it fails miserably. How many times do voters have to reject her before she slinks away in defeat?
