Justice Kavanaugh believes the future is bright for the United States Supreme Court

January 29, 2023

Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh made it clear he believes the future is bright for the United States Supreme Court after a historic, but controversial 2022.

Kavanaugh appeared at an event at Notre Dame Law school and stated that despite everything that happened last year, the court's integrity and working order are intact and 2023 will be a good year.

The justice said, “I’m optimistic about the court, I’m optimistic about the country, I’m optimistic about my colleagues.

Kavanaugh also reminded those in attendance that the political divide among justices is "more nuanced than it is sometimes portrayed."

The Supreme Court has been in the spotlight most of the year since a leaked draft of a decision knocking down abortion rights was leaked. Since then, the court has been under attack by rabid liberals as well as Republicans demanding the leaker be outed and punished.

The Supreme Court needs to navigate efforts by Democrats to pack the court while also providing assurance that there will not be a repeat of last year's leak drama.
