Judge Says Trump Can Wait A Week To Testify In Carroll Trial

 January 16, 2024

Former President Donald Trump has to be flooded with relief over the latest news from his defamation trial.

The trial concerns allegations that Trump defamed E. Jean Carroll back in 2022.

It was just days ago that former first lady Melania Trump’s mother, Amalija Knavs, passed away at the age of 78.

The Trump family, grieving and planning a funeral, hoped for more time before the start of the trial.

Trump requested a trial delay so that he could attend his mother-in-law’s funeral, as any good husband would.

The judge presiding over Trump’s trial, Lewis A. Kaplan, denied this request.

However, Kaplan is allowing the former president to wait to testify until Jan. 22.

Soon, we will hear what Trump has to say.

No matter how you feel about Kaplan, you have to appreciate the act of compassion extended by allowing Trump to at least delay his own testimony.

We pray for the former president, Melania, and the entire family as they grieve the loss of an amazing mother and grandmother, Amalija Knavs.
