The clock is ticking: late-night host John Oliver has offered Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas $1 million a year and a top-of-the-line RV to retire from the court in the next thirty days.

“If we’re going to keep the bar of accountability this low, perhaps it’s time to exploit that low bar the same way billionaires have successfully done for decades,” Oliver said on Sunday’s episode of HBO’s Last Week Tonight before making the offer on air.

There's no chance Thomas will take Oliver up on the offer, even if he is 75 years old and may be retiring soon anyway.

His distinguished service for the last three decades plus has been just what the court needed to avoid sliding into a liberal morass, and he knows it.

Oliver is displaying appalling condescension to even make the offer, and he should know it.

Thomas has integrity and can't be bought off, but Oliver and his Democrat cronies wouldn't know integrity if it hit them over the head. After three decades the court is finally getting back to its originalist roots, and he's not going to miss the chance to be part of that for as long as it lasts and as long as his health holds up.
