Joe Manchin says 'everything is on the table' concerning possible 2024 presidential election run

 January 23, 2023

Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) seems to be mulling a presidential campaign in 2024 and recently stated that "Everything’s on the table," during a Sunday interview on NBC’s Meet the Press.

During the interview NBC host Chuck Todd asked Manchin, "If you run for office in 2024, are you going to run as a Democrat?"

Manchin responded by saying, "Chuck, I haven’t made a decision what I’m going to do in 2024. I got two years ahead of me now to do the best I can for my state and the country... Everything’s on the table."

Todd pressed Manchin further by saying, "So there’s basically only one other thing, the presidency. Is that something you would do outside the Democratic Party?"

Manchin was evasive in his response saying, "The only thing I can tell you is when I make my decision, what I think is the best I can support and represent the people of West Virginia and also be true to this country and the Constitution."

This exchange seems to indicate that Manchin is leaning towards running in 2024 and waiting for the perfect time to make a real announcement. Democrats disgruntled with Joe Biden's failed presidency could very well look to Manchin, a centrist, to preserve Democrats' hold on the White House.
