 April 15, 2024

Jill Duggar, of reality TV's Duggar family, and her husband, Derick Dillard, announced the tragic loss of their fourth child, who was stillborn.

Duggar confirmed that the couple lost a girl named Isla Marie in utero when Duggar was four months pregnant.

In a statement shared with fans, the couple announced, "It is with heavy hearts that we announce the stillbirth of our beautiful baby girl, Isla Marie Dillard. Jill was four months pregnant (due in August) when we found out that our baby died in utero."

This is the couple's second miscarriage, as they suffered the loss of a son, River Bliss, in 2021.

The statement continued, "From the moment we found out we were pregnant, we couldn't wait to meet our baby. Isla was much loved from the start, and her 3 big brothers were so excited to introduce her to their world. We appreciate your prayers as we continue to grieve and heal from the loss of our little Isla Marie."

Miscarriages are an unfortunately common occurrence, and the pain those families endure is significant. Americans should keep Jill and Derick in their thoughts as they navigate this difficult time.
