Jill Biden sports Oscar de la Renta dress at state dinner as economy struggles with high inflation

It's just not a good look: First Lady Jill Biden sported an Oscar de la Renta gown covered with crystals that likely cost over $10,000 at the state dinner for Japan while average Americans are finding it hard to afford gas and groceries because of continued high inflation.

Her husband is counting on continued economic growth to get re-elected, but the Federal Reserve is not going to cut rates unless the economy slows down.

The catch-22 is making Americans feel like the economy is bad, and they are blaming President Biden for it.

Seeing the First Lady showing off in expensive designer clothes will probably not help these perceptions, particularly with gas prices up 60% and food up 40% since he's been in office.

Of course, the Bidens are millionaires and won't be affected by inflation the way most of us are each and every day.

The last several state dinners have cost around $500,000 in taxpayer money each. Let them eat cake, I guess.
