In commenting on the first GOP debate, Fox News host Jesse Watters said that Vivek Ramaswamy had a good night, but that it was an advantage for him that everyone else on the stage was a career politician.
"Vivek Ramaswamy commanded the most attention last night," Watters monologues. "Was that positive attention or negative attention? All depends on who you talk to. But the reason Vivek was percolating is because he's fresh on a stage with seven career politicians."
Similar to Trump, Ramaswamy is a businessman who has never held office. While he has some interesting ideas, he does not have the momentum being sucked up right now by Trump.
Watters also said Ramaswamy highlighted the "spiritual vacancy" of America right now, even though former Vice President Mike Pence thought he cornered the market on that one.
DeSantis was solid, Watters thought, but still has work to do to "wow" people.
He'd better do it soon if he wants to beat Trump in just a few months when the primaries start.
