JD Vance says E. Jean Carroll verdict against Trump invalid due to tainted jury

 February 5, 2024

Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) claims that the New York jury's verdict ordering former President Donald Trump to pay over $80 million to author E. Jean Carroll is illegitimate because of clear political bias.

Vance appeared for an interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s This Week, and called out the political persecution that Trump is facing.

The lawmaker pointed out that Trump has repeatedly had to defend himself in “extremely left-wing jurisdictions," and due to the stark polarization in America today, it is impossible for him to get a fair trial in liberal areas.

Vance stated, "George, if you look at all of these cases, the through line, two-fold. No. 1, they’re funded by Donald Trump’s political opponents, and the goal here is not to help us actually have a real conversation about how to advance the country forward. Their goal is to defeat Trump at the courts because these people know they can’t defeat him at the ballot box."

Stephanopoulos attempted to fire back by focusing on allegations of sexual assault while ignoring the very real issues affecting the nation going into the 2024 presidential elections.

Leftists want to talk about Trump's supposed offenses because they know he will sweep if Americans are thinking about the economy and the nation's foreign policy. The numerous indictments against Trump are nothing more than a smokescreen to shift the conversation.
