Ivanka Trump shares social media post on topic of parental pride
During President Donald Trump's first term in the White House, his oldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, was heavily involved along with her husband, Jared Kushner, who was a top adviser.
However, Ivanka bowed out of politics in 2022 to focus on family and other ventures, and according to the Daily Mail, she recently opened up about her belief that making your parents proud should not matter as much as making versions of yourself proud.
She revealed her stance on the issue in an Instagram post that received lots of attention.
The eldest Trump daughter shared a post on the subject and captioned it with "great read."
"There are only two people whose pride should truly matter to you -- not your parents, not your friends, not even your mentors," the shared post read.
"Just two: the eight-year-old, full of dreams, and the 80-year-old you, full of memories. Both are watching you now," the post added, "The child you once were is still inside you, filled with wonder and hope, waiting to see if you'll chase the dreams they once believed in."
It continued: "It was never about being perfect; it was about being true to yourself, about making the little one proud and giving the older one peace. And if you've done that, then you've already won."

Mother-of-three Ivanka also shared various snaps from her weekend on her Instagram Story, which showed her enjoying a day out with her family at Muir Woods National Monument.
One photo showed her and her husband Jared Kushner posing on a bridge surrounded by trees with their children - Arabella Rose, 13, Joseph Frederick, 10, and eight-year-old Theodore James.
The first daughter also shared some pictures of her children at an NBA game where they were able to meet some of the players.
Last month, when asked about her potential involvement in his second term in the White House, Ivanka said she'd rather play the role of being her father's emotional support instead of being hands-on in politics.
"I'm most looking forward to just being able to show up for him as a daughter and be there for him, to take his mind off things and like watch a movie with him or watch a sports game, to know that he can be with me and be himself, and just relax," she said at the time.
She added, "It's the world's loneliest position, the enormity of the decisions you're making on a daily basis, how transactional everyone is with you. So, it's a very lonely perch."
Ivanka Trump also made it crystal clear that she will not be involved in her father's White House inner circle this time around, citing the "craziness" she experienced the first time around.
Regardless of their involvement in politics one way or another, President Trump knows he's extremely lucky to have supportive children in all realms.
